spent first night in marina just passed lock..  george took off out of lock before sandy and i had untied...we fell over laughing so hard...fortunately lock keeper hadnt tied us tightly so no damage done.  george never knew what happened...let's keep it that way!  spent night in marina that had nasty little shower room.  motion detector light.  had to jump out of shower every 15 seconds, run to center of room and waive arms wildly to get light back on.  went through albemarle sound and it was like glass...we were very relieved.  spent night two in entrance to alligator river.  met two other cruisers..one from gloucester and one from mathews.  friends of george & sandy's came over from nags head and had dinner with us.  scotch, wine and then little beers.  they couldn't get enough little beers, can't imagine how bad they felt this morning.   cruised down alligator river and into cypress swamp..surreal.  sandy asked what day it was..she thought it was monday, i said it was sunday, george said he was sure it was wednesday.  sandy was right and george said "let's agree to have no more hard  questions!  beautiful day going through cut and out into Pungo River.  Pulled into Marina in belhaven and walked into the coolest bathrooms we've ever seen,  pics are coming.  we walked about  a tiny town and slipped into Belhaven Museum..truly a cross between Smithsonian and Ripleys Believe it or not!  Took photos of babies in jars...two headed pig in a jar.. 8 legged pig in jar, a 10 pound tumor, one eyed pig in a jar.  have honestly never seen anything like it!  watched the sun set and having salmon onboard.  we thought we would curb our drinking as we're going to bed by 7:30 pm...but it doesn't work that way..we're just doing it faster!  leaving tomorrow for Oriental NC.  The adventure continues.  who cares what day it is????  or the time???? or where we are???? laughed our asses off constantly.
